Vladimir Kagan design, one of his early works from 1951-1953 and sold directly out of the Kagan-Dreyfuss showroom in Manhattan. Recently acquired from the original owner’s estate on Lido Beach, Long Island. This is believed to be a very rare dining table with a small number of these pieces made. Our research shows, going back ten to fifteen years, a table of this important design has not been seen on the market in any of the finer auction houses.
Material used on this table is solid rich walnut throughout with trademarked classic sensuous tapering legs. Top has a finely patinaed brass banding, criss-crossing the circular beveled top. We also have two solid walnut leaves with brass banding. This table can seat up to ten dinner guests.
Without leaves, diameter is 54″, each leaf is 24″ wide, so with two leaves, the table extends to 102″ from end-to-end.
Signed on the stretchers on the bottom of the table, Kagan-Dreyfuss design on both sides.
